Over five million men in the United Kingdom are suffering from andropause(also known as the male menopause)- affecting their sex drive , mood and weight recent research has shown.

While well known in relation to women’s health, the menopause can also affect men, with hair loss and tiredness being amonst the problems.

95 per cent of cases may be undiagnosed ,claim the experts.

The condition occurs when the testicles do not produce enough testosterone, causing a drop in the hormone level which leads to physical and mental changes.

“Unfortunately, we estimate that 95 per cent of cases are undiagnosed and therefore untreated. When ignored, symptoms can seriously disrupt one’s quality of life.”

Hormone replacement therapy such as Andriol Testocaps could help treat the condition, which has been linked to chronic medical conditions such as high cholesterol, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It can also lead to infertility through the condition hypogonadism.

Dr Brannigan, who is also professor of urology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, said: “We are seeing more men affected by male hypogonadism than we saw 10 years ago.

“It’s important that men pay attention to their body and openly discuss symptoms with their physician in order to prevent overlooking the cause and avoid missing an opportunity for appropriate therapy.”

Michael Andruzzi, 40, was diagnosed with the condition.

He said: “My body was telling me that something wasn’t right. I was always tired, it didn’t matter how much sleep I got, I constantly wanted to take a nap.

“Once I began treatment, I felt better very quickly.

“My energy level shot back up; I regained strength and felt I could concentrate much better.”

Ward is 78 years old, and yesterday strutted his stuff at the Auckland body-building championships.

He entered to mark his own personal half-century and show he still has what it takes. He won the 1960 Mr Auckland title.

Ward, who does not drink or smoke and spends six days a week at a gym, described that title as the “first really big win of my career”. His best performance was runner-up in the Mr New Zealand contest.

Ward has been into bodybuilding since he was a teenager in post-war Britain.

He lives in Otahuhu, regularly competes in senior events, and also trains juniors in the art of growing muscle.

A BODYBUILDER has been cleared of attacking his lover – after she gave evidence in his defence.

But Scottish heavyweight champion Luis Moreira was convicted of a breach of the peace outside his girlfriend Gemma Gray’s home and of resisting arrest.

At a hearing last month, a court heard how he stuck his thumbs into Gemma’s eyes outside a nightclub in Viewpark, Lanarkshire.

But fitness manager Gemma, 24, insisted that 6ft 4in tall Moreira hadn’t touched her.

The former model added that she could remember little else about what had happened that night.

Last week, Moreira broke down in the dock when quizzed about the alleged attack last November.

He admited that on the night, he had drunk 10 vodkas and two bottles of alcopops.

Moreira, 32, from Clydebank, added: “I was very upset. I thought she wanted to finish with me.”

Sheriff David Bicket fined first offender Moreira a total of £300 on the breach of the peace and resisting arrest charges.

The couple have since become engaged.

Moreira won the Scottish heavyweight bodybuilding championship last year and also in 2007.

First and foremost I have NO horse in this race and dont care so much what anyone thinks but there is a LOT of misinformation around about anabolics and other ancillary PED like GH, Clen, and even some of the peptides and such that are gaining in popularity..

Now— I DID use and abuse steroids.. but not like MOST people .. I Rarely if ever cycled off, and GREATLY reduced my life expectancy because of this…. ( Liver)

There are (fairly) Safe ways to use anabolics and androgenics, and to be honest, doctor moderated, light use is PROBABLY beneficial to the human body and would likely INCREASE left expectancy or have little correlation. Many of these drugs are drugs that we lose endogenous production of and it IS BENEFICIAL to use them.

Also, unlike many of you goons think JUST TAKING ANYTHING wont do anything excpet make you horny and hungry. The TRAINING is going to be what makes you better but there is NO QUESTION that increased levels of anabolics, androgens, and hormone such as GH, INSULIN, IGF, have a HUGE impact on strength, speeed, recovery time and skill level. ( noticed I didnt say technique) I Often see technique and SKILL level used here interchangeably and that is incorrect.

Furthermore—- I have Played College FB, Semi PRO baseball……. and Trained with some of the TOp MMA guys in the world.. I have many people from one of the best camps in the world in my phone..

You CANNOT LOOK at someone and KNOW if they are on STEROIDS! Although if they are complte fools and take high Androgens and no diuretic ala Sammy Sosa in the 90′s you can sometime see it in their cheeks.

However, Fat guys use, skinny guys use, muscular guys use ( Josh Barnett, Stephan Bonnar etc….) not exactly guys you would think of… I also know of a 145 er who was a world champ at one time who looks like CHIT and took stuff 9 months out of the year.. So yoiu CANNOT look at tell. While we are at it PISS tests are a complete joke too… You can get MOST Anabolics out in weeks or days… and USUALLY HOURS if you are desperate…. Also MANY compounds dont even show up and many others ( Like insulin, GH, etc…) it is pretty much impossible to test for …

NOW– KEEP in mind I have FRIENDS in the game NOW, and my stuff is coming only a couple years ago…

75%+ of MMA fighters use something… That number may even be light. and it isnt like you think its ONLY the big guys… NOT TRUE AT ALL. Yes MORE THAN likely YOUR hero is or has used PED’s… Sorry, but it is true

Its VERY similar to other sports Baseball and Football are both 60-80% as well.

When I was playing COLLEGE FB for a BIG TEN school ( with a GREAT wrestling program) I kinda became the DEFACTO guy who people went to to try and find gear…

I KNOW that the numbers in college using were 85%+…… I KNEW these people well so they couldnt really hide it..

People just have NO IDEA how prevaleent it is… You REALLY think that hundreds of baseball players use and hav been caught ( I think 105 were in the very FIRST report) with NO CONTACT, where aggression is likely a BAD thing, stamina doesnt matter…. Yet in MMA, when aggression, stamina, strength are imperative and in places like Brazil, you can get OTC in most places, and in the US they are a phone call or few clicks away, that they are NOT USED???? ha—- So Leave people like Allistair alone… He likely IS using, and is going to continue, because testing is horrible…. They are all doing it… Most of them anyway

Ask me ANYTHING about steroids and or PED’s—- I will answer the best of my ability

dexter02 sherdog
